More proof that you can't rely on someone else for your security

Here's the latest example of improperly relying on a third party for your two-factor authentication.

We've seen this before. More than once.

Again: if carriers increase the security of their users' accounts, they will increase their costs. They have only the minimal incentive to do so. Do you even think a carrier employee manages the SMS servers?

If you really want strong two-factor authentication, make sure it is encrypted end-to-end.
